2009 Tree Climbing Competitions

General Information

New Zealand Arboricultural Association, in conjunction with STIHL, is running a series of four Regional Tree Climbing Competitions (TCCs) held across New Zealand.

The competitions are open to persons involved in all aspects of arboriculture.

The top climbers (five male and five female) from each of the Regional Tree Climbing Competitions will be eligible to compete in the NZAA / STIHL National Tree Climbing Championship (NTCC) held in November 2009, Blenheim.

This is your chance to meet and compete with fellow arborists, learn new techniques and see first-hand differing climbing styles.

The overall winner of the NTCC will go on to represent New Zealand at the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) held in the Chicago, Illinois, USA during late July 2010.

Regional Competition Dates

PRE-REGISTRATION ESSENTIAL – registrations will not be accepted on the day

Special Note:
The use of Locking snap hooks as pictured in the updated flyers will NOT be permitted for use in NZAA Regional or National competitions. Please arrange to have alternative connecting links.

The dates for the four NZAA / STIHL Regional Tree Climbing Competitions in 2009 are as follows:-

Auckland Region
Venue: Auckland Domain

Date: September 19th, 2009
